Alex 6-drawer Thread Storage Trays

Organize all your thread! Tired of digging through tubs or boxes to find the color you need? These thread storage trays will keep your thread neat and organized in the Ikea Alex 6-drawerunit. Please see link below for exact Alex unit. We have various sets to fit different size spools.

• Generic set - will fit spools with a base diameter of 1.80" (spools such as Isacord, Floriani, Glide, Brother, Hemingworth and many other name brands) Each tray holds 40 spools - 80 spools total for set
• Aurifil set - will fit the Aurifil 50wt 1422 yd spools with a base diameter of 1.28". Each tray holds 88 spools - 176 spools total for set
• Madeira/Coats & Clark/King Tut set - will fit spools with a base diameter of 1.50". Each tray holds 70 spools - 140 spools total for set
• Kingstar Metallic set - will fit the Kingstar metallic spools with a base diameter of 1.93". Each tray holds 40 spools - 80 spools total for set
• Mix & Match set - select 2 trays to fit one drawer. Can mix & match trays to fit different size spools.  Choose trays from above sets.  Write which two trays you would like in the comment section of your order.

Each set will include two trays that will fit one drawer in the Alex unit. If you are wanting to store thread in multiple drawers, please order the number of sets for the number of drawers you want to fill (ie: if you are wanting to fill all 6 drawers, order 6 sets). Dimensions of trays are 11.80"W x 16.61"L x .375"H. As with all wood, there could possibly be knots and small flaws in the grain. We do our best to only use wood with the least amount of flaws; however, we cannot guarantee the wood to be flaw-free. This will not affect the purpose of the trays. NOTE: The top three drawers of the Alex unit are not as deep height-wise as the bottom three. Only Robison-Anton and Simplicity Pro spools seem to fit in these drawers and allow the drawer to close. You need to add .375” to the height of your spools to account for the tray’s depth. Please check the height of your spools or contact us before ordering if you are unsure which spools will fit in the top three drawers.

NOTE: please be aware that the drawers on the Alex units do not open all the way to reach to the back. This might make it where you cannot reach your thread on the last couple of rows without removing the trays. We are trying to figure out a solution - we are checking to see if there is a clip on the drawer slide to enable them to open further. We will continue to include spaces for thread on the last couple of rows because it is storage space.
